Mike 2020

In November of 2019, I got a call from a friend saying they were working on the Mike Bloomberg 2020 Presidential Campaign and they needed a copywriter.

Thus began the wildest 5 months of my professional life.

The work was a steady stream of odds and ends that are less than digestible sans-context, but here are some highlights:

BILLBOARDS

The campaign largely revolved around positioning Mike as the perfect antagonist for President Donald Trump.

So, we decided to follow Trump around the country with billboards strategically placed near his campaign rallies.

The billboards, while corroboratively accurate, were not subtle.

TWEETS

The majority of my day-to-day work was spent helping run Mike’s personal and campaign twitter accounts.

Over the course of the campaign, we drafted over 1,000 tweets.

The content we churned out ranged from policy-driven platform coverage to dumb jokes to public, petty spats with a sitting U.S. President. Also meatballs.
